New film “Release Oleg Sentsov”

“Ukrkino” film company began its work on a new documentary “Release Oleg Sentsov.” Main purpose is to draw attention to the situation that has developed around the talented Ukrainian director and our colleague Oleg Sentsov.

Andrei Litvinenko began work on the film as a director. He graduated he university of Karpenko-Kary and the documentary studio in the Andrzej Wajda School of Film Directing. It has already been filmed several scenes and the previous trailer is ready for submission to international drafts. At this stage, the Russian director Askold Kurov joined the project. He is documentary filmmaker who graduated from Marina Razbezhkina’s and Mikhail Ugarov’s Workshop. This will provide an opportunity to investigate and monitor the fate of Oleg on both sides of the border. We will share photos and video materials from the film in the nearest future.

Oleg Sentsov is a Ukrainian film director and screenwriter. During the Crimean crisis he supported the movement for a united Ukraine, bought and transported food and essentials to the Ukrainian military units in the Crimea, that were locked. On May 11, 2014 Sentsov came out to protest in Simferopol, later that day, he was arrested by the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation with a charge of terrorism.
